2 weeks from today I will be at home with my family preparing for the holidays.  I have been away now for 2.5 months.  It has gone by so fast and I will be home before I know it.  Then before too long this will all seem like a distant memory.  Like it happened in another lifetime.  I have really enjoyed my time traveling especially the last month here in Krabi.  I have definitely made some friends here that I plan to see again and again throughout my life.  In fact they told me if I wanted to come work here during the high season in exchange for a place to stay and food I could (and I think they were serious too - I have to find out more about this later).  I am sad to see my time here coming to an end, but I am also excited to be going home to see everyone especially for the holidays.  Today I went kayaking to the north.  Normally I go along the coast to the south.  I made my way north along the eroded and cave filled karst mountain to a private beach only accesible by boat.  Exploring the beach I felt like I was on a deserted island (with the exception of the occassional boat passing by on it's way to Railay).  I even found a section that was blocked off with a barb wire fence and it reminded me of the movie "The Beach" which was actually filmed on an island not too far from here.  I was half expecting to see an illegal farming operation going on behind the fence.  I figured the fence was up for a reason and didn't press my luck by exploring too much.  After kayaking the rain came.  I don't think I mentioned it yet, but the power was shut off today in all of Ao Nang.  So with no power and lots of rain I ended up reading quite a bit.  In the evening I hung out with some of my friends.  They even started teaching me some Thai.  I am learning how to say "how are you? and I'm fine or I'm not fine."  Of course we joked around the whole time too.  Everyone seems to have a great sense of humor around here.  But I guess all good things must come to an end eventually.
