Lights, Camera, Action!

Today had to be one of the most random, interesting, and fun days I have ever had in my life. I got up late and went to breakfast. While eating breakfast I was joined by my Parisian friends. We had another wonderful meal together. I am really getting to like this couple. They are very nice, friendly, and we get along good. Today is there last day in Krabi and when I asked what they were going to do today they said that they were going to film a short movie. They are both artists back home. He does 2D/3D art while she does special effects for TV and movies. They were both fans of the show "Lost" and they did not like the ending to the series. So they wanted to film their own ending. However, they were saying that it would be hard because they could not both be on film at the same time as one of them has to hold the camera. So I offered my assistance. So I spent the day with my new friends filming a short movie in the jungles and beaches of Thailand. How random is that? On top of that they were very organized and serious about the project. They spent like 1.5 hours making storyboards and writing dialogue for the film. So eventually we made our way towards the cliffs of Ao Nang. As soon as we got passed the touristy area of the beach we ran into this.

The walkway you can see goes on for about 10 minutes worth of walking. It takes you up into the jungle and drops you off at a private beach and resort only accessible by boat or this walkway. There is no roads into that place. It was such a cool path. Unfortunately I could not use my camera to take some pictures for you. So I will go back in the next few days to take a bunch of pictures. I didn't have my camera because they forgot their memory card and I let them use my card to record their videos. We took videos in about 5 different locations along the walkway. I had a lot of fun filming for them. I am not a very artistic person so it was nice to be able to help two artists out. They told me what to do and how to do it so they made it very easy for me. It was very interesting to see how artists work. She was then going to take all the raw videos and make a short movie out of it and then post it on youtube. After filming we went back to the hotel and they had to hurry up and get ready to leave as they had a flight very soon. I said goodbye to my friends and we exchanged contact information. I will truly miss having them around. Tomorrow will be a lot quieter around here. Heck, tonight was a lot quieter around here without them. I hope I keep in touch with them and I am able to go and visit them sometime in Paris. So after they left I sat in the jacuzzi for awhile and then I had dinner. I had Phad Se Eiw with pork and crepes with nutella again. During dinner I had a good conversation with one of the guys that works at the hotel. We even talked about the tsunami that hit here a few years ago. He said he was here when it happended and that it was very scary. He saw the whole thing happen. He was right across from the beach when the tsunami first hit, but luckily he was able to get up in the mountains to higher grounds. He said there was lots of destruction and many people died. He said it was just a big mess here. Thankfully everything seems to be back to normal now or maybe even better than before (except for the lives lost). Well that was my random day. It was a lot of fun and I got to be around some very nice people today. I am really enjoying myself here in Krabi.
