Paradise At Last!!!

Well it rained last night in Phuket and it was raining again this morning in Phuket. So I knew I made the right choice to leave Phuket early before I even got to Krabi. The thought of being stuck inside at Phuket was horrible. I got out just in time. I am sure there are some very nice places to see in Phuket I just didn't think Patong was one of them. So I took a nice ride through the jungle and karst mountains to get to Krabi. If you look closely you can see the morning fog on top of the mountain.

The mountains were full of fog and I wish I could have got some better pictures, but it is hard to do when in a moving van. Once I made it to Krabi I took a pickup taxi to my hotel which was about 20 minutes from town. Along the way I was treated to views of more karst mountains, caves, temples, and gorgeous beaches. I knew I was in for a treat. Then I got to my hotel. Remember that early post from Cambodia where I said I felt like a king? Well apparently I am nw the king of Thailand too. This is what I saw upon entering the hotel.

As I entered the simple yet stylish lobby I was greeted with big smiles and fresh juice.

After checking in I decided to walk the grounds a little bit and take some more pictures. Here is the view as you walk out into the back courtyard.

Here is the poolside restaurant where I just finished eating lunch.

I had a salami snadwich on fresh baked ciabatta bread, french fries, and some local fruit (which was brought to me complimentary).

The fruit was delicious. I will have to find out the name of it. During lunch I got to talk with the waitress and she was telling me about all the things I can do here. There are lots of different island tours, snorkeling, horseback riding, elephant trekking, and more. I don't know that I will do much of this stuff, but I do plan on just relaxing and enjoying the pool, ocean view jacuzzi and private beach.

The view from the private beach is spectacular. You have islands in the distance, a dock with longtail boats, and some trees in the middle of the ocean.

Last, but not least the room is perfect.

It is simple yet nice. It has a tv with English channels like HBO, Disney, etc. I will definitely enjoy my 6 days here. I have no regrets leaving Phuket early (actually my only regret is not coming here sooner). For the next 6 days I am not going to be traveling or backpacking. I am just going to be relaxing like I am on vacation at a tropical beach (which I am). Hey a king deserves a break every once in awhile too. :)
