Well I didn't get to go see the craziness of Bangla Road after all.  It was a rainy night here in Phuket.  At times it was a very heavy rain, but maybe it was all for the best.  I don't really care much for what they have to offer on Bangla Road anyways.  It case you don't know Bangla Road is similar to Pattaya near Bangkok.  Both of these places are basically just bar lined streets with lots of live adult entertainment that can be rented for the evening.  Thinking about it I am actually kind of glad I wasn't able to go.  I just find that whole situation sad and the worst part is I have seen families walking around with their young children.  Why?  Why would you take a young child to see that kind of stuff?  Instead I spent the evening at the hotel restaurant and lounge talking to a guy from Finland.  He has been here for 4.5 months and he was telling me all his crazy stories about this place.  From what I heard I don't feel like I missed anything, but I am sure some of you out there would love this place.  To each his or her own I guess.  This place is just not me which is why I am leaving for Krabi in about an hour.  I have heard that there is some really cool stuff to see here and I am sure there is, but again it is just so expensive here.  Actually I have found Thailand to not be that cheap anywhere I have gone.  Some places have been cheaper than others, but still not that cheap.  The cheap things here is the local food, which is delicious, and the hotels can be cheap too.  But if you want to do a tour or buy souvenirs they are not as cheap as you would think.  Plus a lot of the stuff they sell here you can buy anywhere in southeast Asia so why not buy stuff in a cheaper country.  Well I am off to Krabi now.  I will post again in a few hours with pictures of the beautiful beach resort I am staying at.
