Typical Lunch At Amoy

I normally meet Ronna for lunch on Tuesdays and Thursday (that way she can still spend time with her friends and colleagues on the other days like she used to before I came here). We always eat near her work. Usually at the nearby MRT station (there's a Japanese resto we like a lot there) or at the Amoy St. hawkers center (which we just call Amoy). Every once in a while we will go somewhere else but 95% we go to one of these 2 places. Today we ate at Amoy. There are lots of options there, but usually we eat Thai. The other day Ronna discovered a new Thai food stall that she likes better than our old Thai spot so we tried that today. Her Phad Thai was better at the new place.

However, I did prefer my Thai Basil Chicken from the old place (Sap Thai).

Although it was still good at the new place. That is just my preference. Anyways, Phad Thai is possibly the most famous Thai noodle dish serve usually with shrimp and Thai Basil Chicken is chicken cooked with basil and served with a fried egg and rice. We also shared a fresh watermelon juice from one of the juice stalls. None of the food stalls sell drinks. Usually you have a drink stall in every aisle of the hawkers center or a few of them scattered throughout. So this is an example of a typical meal here in Singapore. We tend to eat all kinds of different food from all over the world. There is a very diverse cuisine here.
