What To Do Next

November 12, 2010
I just finished up with my Asia trip and I am not sure what to do next.  I still haven't fully adjusted to being back in the states.  While I like the standard of living here I much prefer the style of living in the Asia (especially southeast Asia).  I am thinking I will go to South America for a few months after the holidays, but nothing is for sure right now.  Who knows I may end up back in Asia again for awhile.  I am just taking it one day at a time and enjoying seeing my family and friends.  I was going to write a summary of my experiences, but I think it is something that is much better conveyed in person.  So when you see me we can talk all about it.  Plus I am still trying to adjust to the time change and I am super tired.  I don't feel like doing much right now other than resting.  So for now this is the end until my next trip.  Stay tuned for more information in the next few months while I decide where to go next.  I hope you enjoyed the blog.

Back At Home

November 11, 2010
Hey all I just arrived home.  I am glad to be back, but I do feel a little out of place here.  I imagine it will take a few days to get back to normal (if ever).  I am planning on writing one more blog as a summary of my Asia trip so stayed tuned.  I hope to write it tomorrow.  First thing I did when I got home was set-up my TV and eat a bean and cheese burrito from Lolita's Taco Shop.  See you soon.

N'awlins Baby!

July 11, 2010
Today we did the NOLA Running of the Bulls.  It is just like the Spanish running of the bulls except instead of bulls there are roller derby girls.  Unfortunately my sister did not get any get pictures of us running down the street, but here is what it looks like.

If you think it looks like all fun and games wait until you get an angry "Bull" whacking the crap out of you.  Some of the hits actually hurt.  But in the end it was all good.

After that we rented a car and drove through the Louisiana...

New Orleans

July 9, 2010
Hey everybody I am in New Orleans right now with my family and I thought I would practice using my travel blog.  Today I tried alligator jerky.  It tasted just like beef jerky and we went on a swamp tour.  We saw all kinds of alligators and we also saw some big birds and wild boars.

Then we had dinner and walked along the world famous Bourbon Street.  Bourbon street reminds me a lot of Revolucion.  It has all kinds of bars, neon lights, and stuff like that.

The adventure is now official.  I just bought my one-way ticket to Shanghai, China.  I leave August 10th, 2010 at 12:50am out of Los Angeles International Airport.  I also just got a digital camera today.  So I just need to get a Chinese visa (which I will get in the next few days) and a few other supplies to take with me.  I will arrive in Shanghai around noon the next day.  So you can expect my first official travel blog sometime that day.  Words cannot describe how excited I am.  Watch out...

School's out and the adventure can begin.

June 5, 2010
Well today is June 4, 2010 it is 6:18pm and school is officially over.  I am relieved and excited to start my adventure in August, but at the same time I am very sad.  Today I had to say goodbye to some good friends that I got to know over the last 2 years and I had to say goodbye to my students.  The end of the year is always difficult for me.  I don't like saying goodbye to the students.  I grow attachments to many of the students as I work with them over the course of the year.  This year ...
